Get out, give back, and get dirty with the Appalachian Mountain Club(AMC) on the Bay Circuit Trail!
This first event in a series of monthly, free, open-registration work parties will focus on improving a scenic Bay Circuit segment in Sudbury near the summit of Tippling Rock at the Nobscot Scout Reservation.
Ever wonder what goes into maintaining a trail? Looking for a way to give something back to the local trails you already use? Perhaps you are looking for a way to enjoy the outdoors, learn new skills, and meet like-minded people? These one-day trail events offer the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of trail maintenance or building from skilled AMC Trail Crew Leaders. When you join an AMC trail project you can expect to meet intriguing people, experience the beauty and wonders of nature, put in a hard day’s work, experience great leadership, and “do something for the greater good.”
On Saturday, April 12, you will learn basic trail maintenance techniques, as well as how to use a range of tools. Projects may include closing off old trails, installing water drainage features, and clearing trails for the hiking season.
Everyone is welcome for this great opportunity to get to know the Bay Circuit: individuals, groups and families, whether you have no trail work experience or years of experience.
