The Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) has hired Beth Gula as the new Bay Circuit Trail Volunteer Programs Supervisor. Gula is tasked with developing and implementing a variety of new trail stewardship programs for the 57 communities surrounding the BCT.
Beth earned her B.A. from Oberlin College in Ohio and has worked for several years as an experiential educator in the outdoors for youth and adults in the mid-Atlantic region. Beth comes to the AMC from the Sudbury Valley Trustees (SVT) where she served as an AmeriCorps-MassLIFT Land Steward in eastern Massachusetts. In this role she will be coordinating with the existing volunteer communities working to ensure consistent trail standards along the BCT, planning and delivering various trail training for volunteers, offering numerous open enrolment stewardship events, and working with community and corporate groups to engage them in BCT stewardship activities.
