Are you interested in trail stewardship? The Appalachian Mountain Club’s Trail Adopter Skills Sessions provide training on the basic maintenance responsibilities of Adopters, stewardship techniques and safe tool use, reporting, and other program logistics.  

This in-person training will be spent on the trail. Come prepared to spend the day outdoors learning about trail features and basic maintenance techniques, such as drainage structure clearing and shaping, vegetation trimming, and trail corridor maintenance.

Bring your own backpack, water, meals, snacks, sun protection, insect repellent, work gloves, sunglasses or eye protection, etc.. We’ll provide tools, hard hats, and instruction.
