Bay Circuit Trail Town Sign

Download BCT Town Sign document [MSWord doc 238K]
Edit this Word file for your town and post it either on bulletin boards or at trailheads.
There are 2 versions of the sign. Page 1 is a version that explains how to read the blazes, and page 2 is a version where you can show your town's trail map. For both versions, you insert your town's name and the number of BCT miles. If you decide to insert a map, be aware that area is formatted as a double column, so you may have to play with sizing or adding/deleting lines to get it aligned properly.

If you decide to post the sign at a trailhead, here is a suggested method:

- use a commercial printer do the printing and laminating (will last longer and not fade as fast)
- specify 5 mil laminate, UV protected, fade resistant
- laminate on both sides with 1/4" clear border as water seal
- place on exterior plywood board 2" longer and 1" wider than paper copy
- staple sign to board along 1/4" border (do not puncture paper)
- add framing strips to cover staples (optional)
- if attaching to a tree:
- drill pilot holes for screws at top and bottom of board
- place 3/8" thick rubber bumpers between tree and board for tree growth
- attach using TimberLock screws with battery powered drill
Thanks goes to the Sharon Friends of Conservation for developing this sign!
