The Bay Circuit Alliance |
|
On March 8th, 1990, the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Management hosted a meeting in Boston to plan the future of the Bay Circuit Project. A dozen groups and individuals with previous project experience attended. Also attending were representatives from the National Parks Service (NPS) Rivers and Trails Conservation Assistance Program. The result was the formation of a grassroots coalition of organizations devoted to establishing a long distance recreational trail in the Bay Circuit Corridor. In early 1992 the Bay Circuit Alliance was incorporated as a non-profit organization. Currently, the all -volunteer organization consists of four statewide, seven regional, and twenty-nine local member groups. Day-to-day management is conducted by a Chairman, a Trail Maintenance Advisory Committee, and many local volunteers. A six person Executive Committee sets policy and oversees the work of the Chairman. The chart below lists the current Bay Circuit Alliance organizational members. |
